Childhood Web

One person who influenced me the most was my grandmother. She was a really good person and taught me a lot. She taught me how to cook and often talked to me about life. I could always count on her to be in my corner no matter what I was going through. I went to her about things that I wouldn't talk to my mom about and she always had an answer and a prayer. One thing that she told me that will always stay with me is that I have to love everybody even the ones that don't love me.  She taught me to value my family. Now that she has passed on I try to make sure I spend a lot of time with my family especially my kids.

Jason
I've had a best friend since he was born and we're even closer now since we've gotten older. That would be my brother. He's caring, humble and loving. We are the only two children and I admire him a lot. Since there were no other siblings we had to play together. We made mud pies and played football together. I love my brother and he loves me. I know I can always count on him to make my day brighter when I need uplifting. He helped raise my son for the first two years of his life and has been a big help on being the man in his life. He has been places that I've only dreamed of going. I'm proud of him and his accomplishments.  He's part of my inspiration of reaching my goals and finishing school. I hope that my son grows up to be like him or maybe half the man that he is.

Ms. Brewton
There's one lady that I met while in college that meant a lot to me. Ms. Brewton was the receptionist at my work study job. She took me under her wing as her granddaughter. She also taught me things that my parents never told me about and it was the simple stuff like walk on the right side of the hallway and don't eat with your elbows on the table and all a man to open doors for you if he wants to. I had never heard of such things when I was younger but now I keep them in mind always.

Chan
I have a few friends that I would call my sisters but only one stands out the most. and that's Chan. She has been my rock since we met. I met her in college also during a rough time in my life and she was a major impact on me getting through  it. I can depend on her for anything I need help with. I am so thankful that we met when we did. We were inseparable and the only thing separating us now is the different counties that we live in. She is encouraging, supportive, reliable and thoughtful. She is my counselor, support help, guinea pig, shopping buddy and much more. I'm glad to have her in my corner.

Demetra
This last person helped inspire my teaching journey. I helped in her classroom for a few weeks and watched her interaction with her students and how she was concerned about their well being. She is a relative and I've known her forever. We played together as kids and still communicate as adults. She has been there for me and very supportive also. Watching her teach and interact with children and their families, has inspired me to become involved in children's lives so that they will know at least one person is concerned about them and their well being.
